Leicester Food Bank Plus Advice Worker

Project delivered by Community Advice and Law Service (CALS)   

Fixed term post to 31 December 2022 (Funding to extend the project is currently being finalised)

Location:  Leicester City

Location:  You will be based at Community Advice and Law Service,1st Floor, Epic House, Charles Street, Leicester        LE1 3SH, but will deliver the advice service at various venues within Leicester City. There is potential for some remote working to be incorporated into this role if desired by the applicant.

Reporting to:  Community Advice Projects Manager

Hours:  Full time 37 hours per week. The role will also be considered for part-time and job share for suitable applicants.

Salary:  £19,000  – £21,500 (depending on experience and transferrable skills )

Applicants – The role is aimed at applicants with experience of the work as well applicants with no direct experience but who evidence the skills and ability to be trained to carry out the role.

Role Purpose:    The aim of the project is to provide high-quality information, advice, and advocacy in four community food project venues that provide support to people at risk of food poverty.  The post holder will provide advice and assistance on benefits entitlements (including help completing application forms) maximising income and budgeting advice. The role will also involve identifying other related issues including debt and housing problems that can be referred to CALS specialist services
